Do you want to improve your smile or fix a chipped tooth, but you have concerns about procedures and cost? Cosmetic bonding is the perfect solution. Affordable and conservative, bonding can be used for a variety of enhancements, including whitening stain-resistant teeth (including tetracycline stains), repairing chips and closing gaps between teeth. Dr. Mitsos makes the procedure simple: a composite material is placed on the tooth then shaped to the desired result. Finally, the material is hardened and polished, creating a natural appearance.
Invisalign® is an excellent alternative to traditional bracket and wire braces for those patients interested in fixing crowding, gaps or crookedness in their teeth. Aside from appearance, Invisalign® can be used to correct your bite and help your teeth come together in a healthier way.
For patients who struggle with frequent headaches, facial muscle pain, flattened or chipped front teeth, gum recession or grinding, Invisalign® is a great way to correct those problems. These problems are frequently attributed to an incorrect or uneven bite and our body’s attempt to find the “right” bite. Invisalign® can move your teeth into the proper position and allow them to come together better. If you have any of these problems, please contact us today to talk with Dr. Mitsos about what Invisalign® can do for you.
Of all the methods available today for changing and improving the look of your smile, porcelain veneers are among the most popular and successful with our patients. Porcelain veneers are a front facing for your teeth that can alter the shape, size or color of your teeth while conserving tooth structure essential for function. The process involves removing a small amount of tooth structure to make room for the veneers. The dental lab then fabricates the porcelain veneers from impressions. After placement, the veneers look like natural teeth.
Some advantages of porcelain veneers over bonding include: increased longevity, natural beauty and resistance to staining. Let us create your perfect smile!
Do Whitening Toothpastes Work?
Commercial whitening toothpastes vary greatly in their ability to whiten teeth. They work by removing surface stains from the teeth with the use of mild abrasives. However, unlike professional whitening, some whitening toothpastes do not alter the intrinsic color of the teeth. Toothpastes that are effective in removing stains can also destroy tooth enamel in the process. These toothpastes use harsh abrasives. With repeated use, harsh abrasives begin to damage tooth enamel and can contribute to increased tooth sensitivity. If you would like to try a whitening toothpaste, consult with Dr. Mitsos first.
